Today I studied with Assistant Professor Dr.Usa Noytim  majoring in seminar in English Language Teaching. Today, teacher is the center of teacher. She taught about factors affecting English Language Teaching and Learning consist of student, teacher, learning environment and implication. In the first factor, student divide into 3 main topics: 1) age: the interested of students, challenge and work experience etc. 2) learner differences: aptitude, good learner characteristics, learner styles, language levels, and individual variations. 3) motivation:extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. And the second factor, teacher divide into 4 main topics: Teacher's beliefs, teacher's ability in using English, teacher's methods and styles and teacher's use of teaching and learning materials. The third factor, learning environment which stop this topic because it's time up.
This lesson is easy to discuss because I know and recognize in each factor which these are factor to many problems with students by observing from teaching styles.
This lesson is difficult because each main factor has many branches so I can't understand some factor and think the factor in each one.
I solve to create many factors so I have to read a lot of text which relate to this one. And I conclude in each factor and take note for remembering and understanding.
This lesson for today is very hard because I have to lecture that teacher told me and then I think follow and discuss with my friends to reply her quickly and sometimes I felt sleepy but I still write down follow teacher told me.

Today I studied with Assistant Professor Dr. Usa Noytim, majoring in seminar in English Language teaching. Today, I studied about the factors affecting English language and learning and teacher would like students to read about classroom learning contexts: teachers' descriptions in Malaysia, Mozambique and China. After that discuss with your friends about 2-3 persons per group. Then teacher analysis of sample classrooms and make 3 questions: 1) make comments on each classroom learning context, 2) which classroom do you like most? and 3)what are strengths and weaknesses of each classroom? In my opinion, start with the first question,I think in Malaysia has an excited atmosphere because teacher uses story book to tell story and then practice by using worksheet. In Mozambique, teacher makes conversation and then practice students to speak in English and in China, teacher teaches and students lecture only and they are bored. Next the second question,I like Mozambique teaching style because teacher has activity to speak with partner and practice with other friend and then students can speak in English in daily life. And the third question, these teaching style has interesting but I think teaching model will good or bad base on the creative of teacher.
This lesson is easy because I am studying in Methodology 2 and in this subject has detail relate to this topic so I understand and can argue and discuss easily with friends.
This lesson is difficult because this week has many articles and I have to read and discuss quickly so some information, I don't understand and I can't find some information in this text.
I solve this problem by read and prepare the lesson before I study. And After class,I have to read and conclude again.
This lesson for today, I think it is easy for me and understand because I have ever studied and teacher explain also in Thai and English. Teacher is very kind for me and when I don't understand and has question, she is smile and answer to me rapidly.

Today, I studied seminar in English Language Teaching with Asst. Prof. Dr.Usa Noytim. Last week, teacher assigned each group discussed with topic about the role of English Language Education in Asian Context. This article surveys the history of English and the role of English Language Education in Asian Country: Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. The first, in Singapore, has launched a bilingual education policy with an ever increasing emphasis on the use of English. SSE or Singapore Standard English is officially learned at schools and it is not differences from a Standard English. On the other hand, SCE or Singapore Colloquial English is learned and used in vernacular situations. The second, in Philippines, is large English-speaking population and education program declared that the vernacular be the medium of instruction for all of levels. English was used as the medium in elementary and high school. The third,in Hong Kong, the Chinese language began to be used as an official medium of education along with English. The fourth, in China, English was taught in missionary schools in South China and the first schools that taught English were established in Macau in the late 1830s. The fifth, in Malaysia,English was a compulsory subject for all students from primary school, it was only taught as a subject. The sixth, in Taiwan, foreign language education would begin in secondary school education. The seventh, in Japan, English had replaced Dutch as the main foreign language in Japan and teaching English through native speakers and the other one is to teach English-Japanese translation by Japanese teacher and the last in Korea, can be categorized into two groups by the institutes and missionary school.During the 1950's,use grammar translation and emphasis the ability to understand the cultures of various foreign countries. During the 1960's, emphasis the speaking and listening ability of English and using the audio-lingual method of language teaching with the added goal of introduction Korean culture to other countries and during the 1970's emphasis the communicative ability and grammar-translation method and focus on teaching English through the audio-visual material.
I think this lesson is easy because teacher assigned to translate this article or contents before and after that I discuss and share idea to other so I have chance and got knowledge more than I have.
This lesson isn't difficultly because these information are easy and then I read just 1-2 round, I can get it. I reviewed before I study so I understand.
Although this lesson is easy, but I tried to read more and find keywords in each topic and highlight them. It helps to understand more and  I asked my friend about some information which I didn't understand.
I felt fun when my friends discuss in my group because each person has any idea and each group has many opinions so some group find and add the information and talk about background of each country. I get more knowledge and understand more.

ผลการค้นหารูปภาพสำหรับ the difference between ESL and EFL

On  January  31,2017.
Today, I studied seminar in English Language Teaching with Asst. Prof. Dr.Usa Noytim. Last week, teacher assigned each group discussed with topic about The differences between English as a second language and English as a foreign language and before present in front of the class, teacher gives students to discuss in your group and prepare your presentation. In my group, we discuss that " EFL or English as a foreign language typically take place in a foreign country, usually with students from the same country. In contrast, ESL or English as a second language classes takes place in an English-speaking country, with students from all different backgrounds.ESL students are living in an English speaking country, they will definitely have a communicative need for learning English. EFL students is far more likely to be learning the learning the language for academic purpose and are usually more receptive to learning reading and writing and less concerned with speaking and listening. The teacher might be native or non-native speaker of English. ESL learn faster than people who take EFL. And ESL are st least able to read and write a little bit of English and EFL know neither how to write nor how to read in English. ESL situation, the learner learns English inside the classroom but they leave the classroom, they continuous speak their own language. Teaching ESL vs. EFL: for the English teacher, the differences between EFL and ESL may require different lesson plans, different approaches and different topics. And the last, ESL vs. EFL student motivation: for as ESL students have a higher motivation to learn English because English is relevant to their daily lives. Students in ESL wanted to learn English for many reasons such as communicate with people, all the get a better job. and EFL, they have a lower motivation because English is not a part of their daily lives, they learn for a test or it is compulsory. After that teacher talked about 21st century learning Pedagogical Perspectives, there are 7 main topics and article about Thai English proficiency, now 3rd worst in Asia.
I think this lesson is easy because teacher assigned to find this information or contents before and after that I discuss and share idea to other so I have chance and got knowledge more than I have.
This lesson is difficultly because these information has some vocabulary are difficult for me.
Although this lesson is difficult, but I tried to read more and find keywords in each topic and highlight them. It helps to understand more and  I asked my friend about some information which I didn't understand.
I felt excited because today, I was representative from my group to present our conclusion about the between ESL and EFL and I was not well for speaking English but I try to listen and practice more. Some day, I will be a good speaker.
