Course introduction Global English

On January 24, 2017.

         

      Today, I studied seminar in English Language Teaching with Asst. Prof. Dr.Usa Noytim. Last week, teacher assign each group discussed with topic about familiarize students with related terms such as EFL (English as an foreign Language), ESL (English as a second Language), EIL (English as an international Language), roles of English as a global language and roles of English in Thailand and England and the differences between ESL and EFL. And then a representation of each group presented in front the class and after that other can ask and comment. After finished the presentation, teacher opened a video from you tube about World Englishes (David Crystal) about 2 times and then made a group and discussed in group and presented in the class. World Englishes is not English Language, not native speaker but if you go to other countries, you will be foreigner and didn't know about the difference culture of each country and some words were used differently in each country. For example, " robot" in South Africa means traffic light and in Thailand, Thai people said "check bill" when pay money after finished a meal but in English use "Bill,please." and "Check,please." And the last of this lesson, teacher concluded this lesson about the spread of English, varieties of English, role of English, benefits of English and role of English in Thailand and after that teacher assigned students to find information about the differences between the learning of ESL and EFL and how to implication in teaching English.

       I think this lesson is easy because teacher assigned to find this information or contents before so I understand more and I can discussed in my group.

       This lesson is difficultly because these information are English language and some vocabulary are difficult for me.

       Although this lesson is difficult,but I tried to read more and find keywords in each topic and highlight them. It helps to understand more and  I asked my friend about some information which I didn't understand.

       I felt happy and fun to study this lesson because these information had ever studied in the last lesson and so I understood and reviewed again. But sometimes I felt sleepy because that room is cold and the class is boring, not fun and laugh sound.

Course introduction Global English

On  January  17,  2017.

       Today, I studied seminar in English Language Teaching with Asst. Prof. Dr.Usa Noytim. I discussed in our group with topic about familiarize students with related terms such as EFL (English as an foreign Language), ESL (English as a second Language), EIL (English as an international Language), roles of English as a global language and roles of English in Thailand and England. After class teacher assigned an article about teaching English as an international language to discuss next week.
        I think this lesson is easy to find the information. I can search internet in Thai or English and share with my friends in my group. And then we shared and summarized and wrote down. 
      This lesson is difficultly because these information which we discussed that there are many long and have vocabulary difficultly and then we had to analyze and discuss in group and other group.

       Although this lesson is difficult,but I tried to read  many article and each article is difficult for me and then I must read, understand and exercise more and after class, I had to ask my friend about some information which I didn't understand.

   I felt happy and fun to study this lesson because these information had ever studied in the last lesson and so I understood and reviewed again.

Course  Introduction Global English

On January 10, 2017.

  Today, I studied seminar in English Language Teaching with Asst. Prof. Dr.Usa Noytim. I discussed in our class with main topic about methodology and teacher assigned to student to work in group and then our group got the topic "Assessment and evaluation". Our group divided 5 main topic such as types of tests,test based on 4 skills, measurement appropriate and inappropriate test,criterion like this. After that all of groups presented in front of the classroom. 

        I think this lesson is easy for me because I can talk and share idea about this topic which learnt last semester with my friend but I'm shy to present in front of the classroom and I believe that I will be confidant more and improve to talk with many people.

     This lesson is difficultly because this lesson have to analyze and interpret and after that discuss in group and other group to understand but some phrases, I can't understand so the article of language isn't beautiful and confuse.

         Although the most of this lesson, I have to read  many article and difficult for me but I must practice and exercise more and after class, I have to ask my friend and teacher to understand.

         I felt happy for this lesson because today is beginning for lesson and topic which we discuss to be easy for me.
